Growth is in variations of the sport, and so, varying formats of Hockey have come into play and the Hockey 5’s is proving to be a ‘catch’.
Staged Annually in the month of June, this is a National tournament and is in its 3rd year. With Kenya Police and Sikh Union – Nairobi being the previous and reigning champions respectively.
The tournment format allows for a lady to be on the pitch at any one time and makes for an interesting choice of players and game play dynamics as every team tries to outwit the other.
Sikh Union and Deep State (a Sikh Union Proxy), played each other in the finals having beaten Parklands and Wazalendo along the way to the finals.
There was a cash price up for stake, and as MCHA we hope to grow this variation of Hockey and the tournment progressively.
