The path toward the upcoming MCHA elections has now been formally set following the official confirmation of dates and procedures.
In a brief but symbolic ceremony, Mrs. Leocardear A (MCHA Co-Opted Board Member), received the official election confirmation letter from Ms. Rose Wasike, on behalf of the Sports Registrar’s office signaling the final green light for the much-anticipated exercise.
The handover marks a critical milestone in MCHA’s electoral calendar – a 4 year cycle, that provides stakeholders with certainty and a clear framework to prepare. The letter confirms that the election dates have been officially approved as the 25th of October 2025 and hereby diarized by the Sports Registrar, laying to rest any speculation about any possible delays or changes.
Speaking after the brief exchange, Mrs. Leocardear on behalf of the MCHA Trustees emphasized the importance of preparedness and transparency.
βThe receipt of this letter is not just a procedural step but a public assurance that all systems are in place for credible elections. It is now upon all participants to gear up, engage fairly, and uphold the democratic values we stand for,β she remarked.
For her part, Ms. Wasike noted that the process leading up to this stage has involved and ensures close coordination with relevant authorities and compliance with all legal and administrative requirements as per the Sports Act. She added that the confirmation offers Players, Teams and many stakeholders within the County of Mombasa and beyond confidence that their voices will be considered and heard at the ballot box.
With dates officially confirmed, focus now shifts to candidates, electoral officials, and delegates.
The symbolism of Ms. Lodi receiving the letter from Rose Wasike underscores MCHA’s institutional trust and procedural accountability necessary for a credible process. It also highlights the importance of visible, transparent steps in election management, especially in a climate where stakeholders demand clarity and fairness.
