The arduous process of registering a sports association was finally complete when MCHA was officially registered as a Sports Association and received its certificate in September 2022. This creates an opportunity and gateway to approach corporate entities.

Similarly, the Certificate resolved the renaming of the now defunct Coast Hockey Association into Mombasa County Hockey Association as stipulated in the Sports Act and also in line with the devolution protocols where the regional associations are now replaced with county associations.
